Q: What are the requirements to run for Beverly Hills City Council or Treasurer?

Tuesday, November 8, 2022 - Los Angeles County General Election

Election Day Hours: 7AM - 8PM
Voters can go to any in-person vote center location within Los Angeles County. Beverly Hills will have 11-day and 4-day vote centers.
An online voter registration form is available on the California Secretary of State's website at http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/voter-registration/. You may also logon to the L.A. County's website at http://www.lavote.gov for more information.

When City Hall reopens, registration forms may be obtained from the Beverly Hills City Clerk's Office, Room 290, 455 N. Rexford Drive, or you may telephone the City Clerk's Office at (310) 285-2400 or the County Registrar of Voters (800) 481-8683 to request a registration form by mail.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, all registered voters will be mailed a Vote By Mail (VBM) ballot. VBM Ballots will begin to be mailed out 29 days before Election Day by the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk.

Voters do not need to submit a Vote by Mail application since all registered voters will automatically receive a ballot in the mail. However, if you would like to change your mailing address temporarily or permanently, you can do so by going here: https://lavote.gov/Apps/VoteByMail/Index?id=4193

All registered voters will receive a Vote by Mail ballot during the Covid-19 pandemic. Instead of polling precincts, there will be limited Vote Centers and several Vote by Mail (VBM) Drop Boxes throughout Los Angeles County.

VBM Drop Boxes in the City of Beverly Hills:
- City Hall (next to Kelly's Coffee and Fudge): 455 N. Rexford Drive
- Roxbury Park Community Center: 471 S. Roxbury Drive
Before you drop off your Vote by Mail (VBM) ballot make sure you:

1. Place your voted ballot card(s) inside the Official Return Envelope
2. Securely seal the Official Return Envelope
3. Sign and date the back of the Official Return Envelope



During an election, you may return your Vote By Mail (VBM) ballot by any of the following options:

1. Return by mail. No postage is needed, however it MUST be postmarked by Election Day.

2. Drop off at a Vote by Mail Drop Box location.


In Beverly Hills, there are two locations:
- City Hall (next to Kelly's Coffee and Fudge): 455 N. Rexford Drive
- Roxbury Park Community Center: 471 S. Roxbury Drive

3. Drop off at any Vote Center leading up to and on Election Day.

"If you were previously registered in Los Angeles County and have not re-registered since you moved within the County's borders, you can vote at the polling place for your new address. You will be asked to vote a provisional ballot and provide your new address and your previous address on the provisional ballot envelope." - Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk

You must be a United States Citizen and a resident of California, at least 18 years of age on or before Election Day, not found mentally incompetent by a court of law, and not in state or federal prison or on parole/probation for a felony conviction.
Voter last name, first name, middle name, present address where you live (no PO Box or business address), mailing address if different from where you live, date of birth, place of birth, California Driver's License # or California ID Card #, last four digits of Social Security Number, telephone #, and political party affiliation. It is important to print this information clearly and pay attention to the order of the last name, first name, and middle name. You must also sign the registration form.
You may register or re-register to vote at anytime, however, if it is less than 15 days before an election you will need to complete the Same-Day Voter Registration process and request your ballot in person at the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk's office or at a polling location.

The Official Sample Ballot Booklets will be mailed out by Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk no later than 21 days before the election.
Yes, registered voters will be able to vote at any approved Vote Center throughout Los Angeles County.
